Anne of Ditchley Jasmine Scented Soap Bar
Newport Mansions Exclusive
Inspired by the Portrait of Anne of Ditchley (c. 1680) by Sir Peter Lely and his studio, this Jasmine Scented Soap Bar reflects the grace and refinement of 17th-century English portraiture. The original oil-on-canvas painting portrays Anne of Ditchley in a three-quarter-length pose, seated within a pastoral landscape, her softly draped gown and contemplative gaze capturing Lely’s signature elegance.
The portrait’s distinguished provenance, including ownership by Sir Robert Walpole and later Cornelius Vanderbilt II, connects it to centuries of aristocratic and Newport history. Acquired by the Preservation Society of Newport County in 1995, it remains a treasured work within the Newport Mansions collection.
Delicately fragranced with the romantic floral notes of jasmine, this luxurious soap produces a gentle, creamy lather enriched with glycerin to cleanse and soften the skin. Crafted in Portugal by Longlife, Saboaria Artesanal Portuguesa, it reflects a commitment to traditional soapmaking and locally sourced ingredients.
Beautifully wrapped in artwork inspired by the historic portrait, this soap bar transforms a daily ritual into an experience of timeless elegance.
